Agate Beach is located on the Central Oregon Coast just north of Newport. One can reach North Newport and Agate Beach by traveling north on highway 101 from California or Southern Oregon, south on highway 101 from Washington or northern Oregon, or east on highway 20 from the valley. Other options from the valley include highway 18, which can be taken from Salem to the costal town of Lincoln City, and then down 101 to Newport.

Once you have reached the intersection of highway 101 and highway 20, you are in Newport Oregon. To the south is South Beach, to the west is Nye Beach, and to the north is Agate Beach. Just head north on 101 until you see the Yaquina Head Lighthouse.
